Dozens of hungry eels writhe around on the shore of a New Zealand stream in footage guaranteed to make even the steeliest viewer squirm.

A family stopped during a day trip to throw bread to the ravenous animals.

Eel - Manages - Chunk - Mouth - Prize

One eel manages to grab a chunk in its mouth and begins to slither off with its prize.

But it is intercepted by a duck which snatches the food away.
