“The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement.” To most people, that statement from Attorney General Jeff Sessions is entirely unremarkable, all the more in the context of being delivered in a recent speech to a Sheriffs’ association. But if you’re a super-woke lefty journalist with a less-than-optimal knowledge of civics and history, it sets your SJW senses a-tingling! The Washington Post, Vice News, Essense, NBC and of course, CNN, all heard the “dog whistle,” or at least didn’t have enough ethical responsibility to dismiss it as the bone-headed drivel.
