Human eyes have what is called vestibulo-ocular reflex which enables you to stay focused on something, like these sentences even if you are moving your head around in different directions without losing focus on the words.  Birds like the Kingfisher lack this eye reflex and compensate with a neck reflex to stabilize their vision.

Chickens do the same thing, in fact some people will put a sports video camera on a chicken's head because it keeps the video so stable.
