Days after saying she wouldn’t be competing for President Trump, U.S. Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn was trashed by Mike Eruzione, captain of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” U.S. men’s hockey team.
Vonn made the comments in an interview with CNN.

“Well, I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,” Vonn said.
“I take the Olympics very seriously and what they mean and what they represent, what walking under our flag means in the opening ceremony,” said the 33-year-old Vonn, who is looking for her second gold medal during next year’s games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

“I want to represent our country well. I don’t think that there are a lot of people currently in our government that do that.”
Asked if she would go to the White House were she to be invited, she said, “absolutely not.”

In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Saturday, Eruzione said that commander-in-chief ought to be respected.
“First of all, we had the honor of going to the White House, and if you will remember, at a very difficult time,” Eruzione recalled, noting that the victory came at the height of the Iranian hostage crisis and President Jimmy Carter’s unpopularity.
