If you'd love to grow your own vegetables but aren't so green-fingered, then help is at hand – in the form of a new smart planter.

The Grow Duo set includes an app-connected planter, soil and seeds, helping users to grow their own plants.

Set - Price-tag - £150

The set is available now, but comes with a fairly hefty price-tag of $199 (£150).

It will water your plants, and an app will tell you when it needs help either for harvesting your crop or pruning.

Grow - Duo - Set - Experts - New

The Grow Duo set has been created by experts from New York-based firm, Grow.

A spokesperson for Grow said: 'For co-founder Idan, it all began on his own roof in 2010 when he started growing a few tomatoes in buckets.

'This - Idea - Grow - Way - Garden

'This is where the idea for Grow blossomed: a simpler way to create and manage your garden, with supplies and support built into the experience.'

The plastic planter is 0.6 metres (two feet) wide, 0.3 metres (one foot) deep, and 40 centimetres (16 inches) tall, and contains sensors that monitor light, temperature, water and humidity levels.
