Baseball fans at Fenway Park in Boston were shocked to see a large black and white banner unfurled over the Green Monster with the words 'Racism is as American as baseball.'

The sign was held by three attendees at the Red Sox's game against the Oakland Athletics during the fourth inning Wednesday night. The trio were ejected from the game for their aggressive stunt.

Lettering - Contrast - Backdrop - Wall

The white, large lettering, jumped out in stark contrast against the black backdrop and draped far down the wall.

Redsox fan's have been previously mired in racial controversy.

May - Orioles - Adam - Jones - Slurs

Back in May the Orioles outfielder Adam Jones said slurs including the N-word were thrown at him while playing at Fenway.

Jones even had a bag of peanuts tossed at him during the game.
