Records are meant to be broken — and sometimes, so are sprinklers.
A woman from New Zealand recently broke a world record in the sport of golf, and managed to hit an object hundreds of yards away at the same time.

With one swing, Phillis Meti set the new women’s long drive record at a stunning 406 yards. While that achievement is impressive enough, Meti also reportedly bounced the golf ball off a sprinkler head in the process, according to Golf Monthly.
“What did that hit?” commentator Jerry Foltz excitedly asked while watching the drive. “Over 400 yards!”

“It had to hit a sprinkler, Jerry,” replied a fellow commentator.
Stuff Magazine reported that the ball may have gained an advantage when it bounced off the sprinkler and continued to move forward. Despite the unlikely impact, the drive was legal under the rules of the competition.
