Ilie Nastase has made an extraordinary defence of his behaviour in the Fed Cup tie with Great Britian claiming that racism is not a 'delicate' issue in Romania and that he can count two black people among his friends.
Nastase has been banned from the Fed Cup and Davis Cup until 2019 because of his foul-mouthed comments and bad behaviour as Romania's captain during the clash in Constanta in February.

While Nastase has defended his actions by insisting he is not a racist, the International Tennis Federation said on Friday the 1973 French Open champion will not be able to work in an official capacity for a further two years, until 2021.
The 71-year-old Nastase, who was also fined $10,000 (around £7,700), has three weeks to appeal the decision.
