Disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti is being held in El Chapo's former cell after being transferred from a California jail to the notorious Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.
Avenatti's lawyers told a judge he is being held in solitary confinement on 24-hour lock-down at the prison where Jeffrey Epstein was found hanged.
'He - Cell - El - Chapo - Floor
'He is in a cell reportedly once occupied by El Chapo, on a floor that houses individuals charged with terrorism offenses,' Avenatti's brief Scott Srebnick wrote on Monday.

Avenatti - IRS - Agents - Week - State
Avenatti was arrested by IRS agents last week during a state bar hearing where he faced suspension of his license to practice for allegedly stealing from a client.
He was collared during a break in his testimony.
Srebnick - New - York - Judge - Avenatti
Srebnick wrote to the New York judge that Avenatti had been jailed for unspecified 'financial transactions' and over claims he posed an 'economic danger.'
Avenatti had been free on an unsecured $300,000 surety bond that required he not commit any crimes.
Crimes - Pattern - Misconduct - Crimes - Indictment
The alleged new crimes follow a pattern of misconduct since 2011 and appear to mirror crimes he is charged with committing in a 36-count indictment, prosecutors said.
