A Florida man who was wanted for allegedly selling methamphetamine tried to avoid arrest by holding his breath underwater in a pond while deputies searched nearby.

Daniel Christopher Booth, 36, of MacClenny, Florida, was at work on Wednesday morning at a solar power plant in Suwannee County.

Sheriff - Deputy - Plant - Attention - Booth

A sheriff’s deputy arrived at the plant, getting the attention of Booth, according to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.

Booth decided to make a run for it, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pond - Arrest - Underwater

He saw a nearby pond and decided he was going to try and evade arrest by going underwater.

But there was no escape from canine units deployed...
