Woman caught on camera outside wedding venue before stealing newlywed couple's gifts

Newlyweds Chris and Emma Cox spent their wedding night dancing with loved ones in Florida, but unbeknownst them a thief was plotting to steal as much as $5,000 in wedding gifts.

Surveillance footage from their venue, The Pavilion at Mixon Farms in Bradenton, shows an unidentified woman driving a silver Ford Explorer into the parking lot and waiting for nearly two hours.

Emma - ABC - Action - News - Father

Emma told ABC Action News that her father was loading gifts into her husband's truck outside the venue.

The items included a plain gray cooler bag full of extra clothing, Emma's wedding heels, the couple's marriage license and money.

At one point her father goes back inside the venue to grab leftover food and cake.

Then, the woman make makes her move.

Woman - Car - Chris - Truck - Walks

The woman exits her car, goes directly to Chris's truck and walks off with the cooler bag in hand.

Emma said: 'It was in a gray cooler bag, so it’s not a suspicious bag, like it’s a cooler bag you would put food in but she knew exactly where to go.'

Anything - Car - Anyone - Car - Doors

'[She] didn’t look for anything else in the car, didn’t go through anyone else’s car doors, just went exactly where it was in that car and that door.'

Only a handful of people, excluding Emma's father, knew the card and money were in Chris's car.

Emma - Wind - Cooler - Bag - Dress

Emma first caught wind that the cooler bag was missing when she wanted to change out of her dress on Saturday night, but decided not to cause an uproar on her wedding night.

The couple planned on visiting Siesta Key Beach the day after their wedding, but were forced to leave their Airbnb and filed a police report with local authorities.
