Angry New York commuters are sharing disgusting photos of the city's dirtiest subway cars as part of a competition to win $500.
Transport Workers Union Local 100 has asked those using the transport system to post the images online as part of contract negotiations between them and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
MTA - Positions - Budget - Something - Dollar
They say the MTA has cut 79 cleaner positions and 'decided to spend their budget $$ on something else like million dollar consultants'.
The gruesome pictures show piles of trash plus '****, blood and infectious waste' according to TWU Administrative Vice President Nelson Rivera.
Competition - Monday - End - November - Hand
The competition was launched Monday and will run until the end of November when Local 100 say they will hand over the $500 check to the person who took the worst image. Riders are asked to share their images here.
Rivera added: 'Since the authority is not listening to the union, they should hear from the riding public. It’s not a secret; these trains are a lot dirtier.'
