Pelosi Insists, 'At This Time We Will Not Be Having a Vote' on Impeachment

(CNSNews.com) - Democrats are "going down the path of passing legislation," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told a news conference on Tuesday, stressing once again that the House can legislate even while it investigates President Trump and litigates an impeachment case against him.

She once again ruled out a full House vote on impeachment proceedings.

Trump - White - House - Pelosi - Requests

The Trump White House has informed Pelosi that it will not cooperate with congressional requests for information and witnesses unless the full House votes to launch a formal impeachment inquiry, with rules that protect Republicans' right to subpoena witnesses, among other interests.

Why not let the full House vote? "Why not call their bluff?" a reporter asked Pelosi:

"There’s no requirement that we have a vote, and so at this time we will not be having a vote,” Pelosi responded. “And I'm very pleased with the thoughtfulness of our caucus in terms of being supportive of the path that we are on in terms of fairness; in terms of seeking the truth; in terms of upholding the Constitution of the United States.”
