He has enjoyed incredible success as a rapper and hip hop artist, and has also faced legal troubles and conflicts with the criminal justice system.

But on Friday, rapper Meek Mill was back at his old elementary school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to hand out hundreds of knapsacks to students and school supplies to the teachers.

Meek, 32, stood on stage in the auditorium of James G. Blaine Elementary School, where the much-needed supplies were being distributed, to share an encouraging message.

'I just wanted to stop in and show my love and appreciation for my neighborhood,' Mill said, according to TMZ.

'Continue to chase your dreams, do what you do,' he later added, to the students who cheered him on.
