A 91-year-old murder suspect has died after he was arrested last year in the killing of his stepdaughter whose Fitbit helped provide clues to police.
Tony Aiello died Tuesday awaiting trial at a hospital in San Jose where he was taken due to 'deteriorating health' from pre-existing conditions, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Aiello was arrested last October over the death of 67-year-old Karen Navarra, who wore a Fitbit, which tracked her steps and heart rate.
Authorities say the device recorded a rapid rise in her heart rate before a sudden drop-off. According to a police report, her heart rate spiked at 3.20pm and by 3.28pm it stopped.
