Facebook has banned Epoch Times from running any ads after the conservative newspaper was accused of running 'pro-Trump' political content.
Epoch Times publisher Stephen Gregory confirmed the ban in a statement on Friday, saying that Facebook's move 'appears to be a response to NBC News’ reporting on us.'

Throughout the week, NBC News and MSNBC had run a series of reports accusing the Epoch Times of running Facebook ads that 'praise Trump, peddle conspiracy theories about the “Deep State,” and criticize “fake news” media.'
After Facebook cut off advertising from the newspaper's main page, the Epoch Times created other pages to run the ads, spending about $2 million in total.

Now, advertising for those auxiliary pages, which had titles such as Pure American Journalism and Honest Paper, have also been cut off.
Epoch Times has said that Facebook offered no explanation for cutting off its ability to advertise.

Facebook did not immediately respond to an inquiry from DailyMail.com, but a spokesperson told NBC News: "Over the past year we removed accounts associated with the Epoch Times for violating our ad policies, including trying to get around our review systems.
'We acted on additional accounts today and they are no longer able to advertise with us,' the spokesperson added.
