Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out’ Will Have Its European Premiere At This Year’s BFI London Film Festival

Rian Johnson’s upcoming murder mystery film, “Knives Out,” is crossing the Atlantic. Today, the people behind the BFI London Film Festival have announced that “Knives Out” is named the American Express Gala and will have its European premiere as part of the event.

“Knives Out” is Johnson’s first film since his 2017 entry in the “Star Wars” canon, ‘The Last Jedi.’ The film features a great cast in a modern twist on the classic Agatha Christie murder-mystery genre, as a detective is brought to a mansion to help investigate the death of the family’s patriarch.

“I’m thrilled to be screening ‘Knives Out’ at the BFI London Film Festival,” said Johnson. “This film was an attempt to capture the twisty fun of an Agatha Christie whodunnit, it’s a great pleasure to be showing it in the country responsible for the genre’s golden age.”

Even if Rian Johnson’s involvement as writer-director isn’t enough to garner interest, the all-star cast he has pulled together to star in the film is going to excite even the most casual of movie-goer....
