A meteorologist's awkward attempt to quote Rihanna and inject a bit of fun into his weather report may have left some viewers cringing — and his colleagues were certainly mortified.
Earlier this week, meteorologist Adam Epstein was giving the the forecast for the week on Fox40 News in Sacramento, California when he turned to a pop culture reference to jazz things up.
Heat - Viewers - Sun - Lyric - Rihanna
With scorching heat ahead, he advised viewers to stay out of the sun by quoting a lyric from a Rihanna song — but his delivery left the co-anchors back in the studio rolling their eyes.
Adam was broadcasting from the station's outdoor patio, and he used one of the patio umbrella's as a cue.
Sun - Note - Rihanna - Umbrella - Ella
'If you're in the sun, you might want to take a note from Rihanna, and stand under that umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh,' he said, slowly pronouncing each word in a serious tone of voice as he looked into the camera.
Off camera, a few giggles can be heard in the studio immediately after his cheesy report.
Co-anchors - Mae - Fesai - Pedro - Rivera
But co-anchors Mae Fesai and Pedro Rivera didn't look quite so amused, but more embarrassed.
Mae smiled uncomfortably, folding her arms in front of her and letting out a drawn out 'What?' followed by awkward laughter.
