Two teenagers have been arrested after breaking into their former Tennessee high school to steal an AR-15 and bulletproof vests from a gun safe - but critics are questioning why the assault rifle was kept on the school grounds in the first place.
Adam Cisneros, 19, and Lee Clark, 18, were arrested by the Macon County Sheriff's Department after they were caught on video sneaking into the Red Boiling Springs High School on Wednesday, August 7.
Students - Window - Resource - Officer - Gun
The two former students were seen coming in through a window and breaking into the Resource Officer's gun safe.
Cisneros and Clark allegedly stole an AR-15 assault rifle and bulletproof vests from the scene.
Staff - Break-in - Work - Day - School
School staff discovered the break-in when they arrived back at work the next day. They immediately placed the school - and others nearby - on lockdown.
After reviewing the security footage, deputies launched a search for Cisernos and Clark. Cisernos surrendered to cops later that evening.
Clark - Friday - Morning - Lunchtime
Clark was arrested on Friday morning around lunchtime.
The stolen items were found buried behind Clark's home.
