Tornado rips off roofs and leaves fifteen people injured after tearing across Luxembourg

A huge tornado ripped across southwest Luxembourg on Friday leaving fourteen people injured with one in critical condition.

Images posted on social media showed the powerful twister whipping roofs and other debris into the air.

With winds reaching 80 miles per hour, the tornado smashed through towns near the borders with Belgium and France on Friday evening.

Footage posted on social media shows the terrifying storm as it whips itself through southwest Luxembourg as debris flies through the air.

Homes - Pierre - Mellina - Mayor - Town

Around 100 homes have been damaged, Pierre Mellina, mayor of the town of Petange, told RTL media.

The Luxembourg government, which released the toll, has now set up a crisis unit to aid those affected by the tornado.
