Woman, 34, suspected of driving under the influence told police that she was just ordering food

A woman suspected of driving while in impaired in Canada tried to avoid arrest by claiming that she wasn't driving, even though she was seated in the driver-seat at an area drive-thru.

The 34-year-old woman from Toronto had been sitting in her car at a fast food restaurant at Keele Street and Highway 7 in Vaughan when the York Regional Police arrived to the scene.

An employee told police that the driver would not move from her spot in the drive-thru and added that she had not ordered any food while there, police said in a release.

Police approached the woman in her Toyota Prius and asked her to get back into her vehicle before asking for her identification.
