Holiday Inn ditches mini shampoo bottles to cut back on plastic waste

Holiday Inn has decided to ditch its mini shampoo bottles in rooms to cut back on plastic waste in an effort to save the ocean.

The hotel group, which also looks after InterContinental Hotels, announced on Tuesday that it would now use bigger bottles in all of its 843,000 guest rooms around the world.

By 2021, the smaller bottles will all be gone.

On average, the hotel group says it uses 200 million bathroom miniatures every year.

By switching to bulk-size products, the group hopes to drastically reduce its contribution to plastic waste.
