Shocking lawsuits from the Cook County public guardian claims that the Illinois Department of Children and Family services placed a young boy in a home with a convicted sex offender, leaving him to be sexually abused.
Public guardian Charles Golbert submitted the pair of lawsuits against two DCFS case workers, the 12-year-old's foster mother and the sex offender - identified as James White.
'DCFS - Background - Check - Golbert - WGN
'DCFS is supposed to run a background check,' Golbert explained to WGN. 'They did not do that in this particular case so they ended up placing a 12-year-old boy with a convicted child sex molester.'
The boy was placed in the home - located in Chicago's South Side - in late October 2014 after his grandmother was no longer able to take care of him.

White soon moved into the house to live with his wife, Golbert claimed.
