A woman's complaint has been shared after she mistook a six-foot sculpture of Spider-Man's hands shooting web for 'devil horns'
The art piece, which is part of art project 'Serving Hands' in Lincoln, Nebraska, came under fire from a member of the public.
Mayor - Leirion - Gaylor - Baird - Complaining
Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird received the e-mail complaining that the large hands located near to the area's 27th Street and Capitol Parkway intersection.
'It is a sculpture of two hands open, painted Red & Black, and formed into Devil Horns,' the woman wrote, according to the Lincoln Journal Star. She went onto add that it was anti-Christian, demonic and inappropriate.
Removal - 'satanic - Piece - Perverse - Crime
She demanded the removal of the large 'satanic' piece, describing it as ugly, perverse and a 'hate crime against the church,' The Star reported.
It was actually a piece of art made by Ian Anthony Laing and is one of 50 sculptures across the city of Lincoln, intended to 'benefit Campus Life.'
