THE VOTE OF THE COMMISSION WAS 3-2. IT WAS CALLED A 'PARTY LINE' VOTE WITH THREE REPUBLICANS VOTING YES AND TWO DEMOCRATS VOTING NO.

Secretary - Labor - Alex - Acosta - Friday

The Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta resigning Friday amidst controversy generated by the indictment and arrest of financier Jeffrey Epstein on child sex trafficking charges.

President Trump was by Acosta's side on the White House lawn for the announcement, saying it was Acosta's decision, not his.

Acosta - US - Attorney - Miami - Office

Back in 2008 when Acosta was the Republican US Attorney in Miami his office intervened when the Palm Beach police chief became alarmed that in Democrat controlled Palm Beach County the then District Attorney Barry Krischer was not willing to prosecute the politically powerful Epstein on similar child sex trafficking charges.

Krischer has defended himself saying his office did prosecute on a single state charge in the end saying that Acosta's office prepared to seek a life sentence on federal charges for Epstein, but did not file them.

Plea - Deal - Epstein - Months - Prison

That plea deal that saw Epstein plead guilty and only serve 13 months in prison on work release.

The Deputy Secretary of Labor Patrick Pizzella will now be Acting Secretary of Labor.

Relationship - Jeffrey - Epstein - President - Reporters

Regarding his relationship in the past with Jeffrey Epstein, the President told reporters that relationship broke off 12 to 15 years ago and he kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago for his behavior towards a young woman there.
