A 17-year-old boy will spend at least 17 years behind bars after stabbing another teenager to death because he wasn't allowed into a Halloween party.
Michael Thompson, from Huddersfield, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering 17-year-old Jamie Brown, from Halifax, after he stabbed him in the stomach and damaged major blood vessels.

Thompson had been trying to break into the party in Ovenden with a group of youths who were carrying knives and hammers when he got into an argument with Mr Brown and his friends.
West Yorkshire police said the shocking attack 'highlights the devastation of using knives'.
Thompson - Murder - Leeds - Crown - Court
Thompson was found guilty of murder at Leeds Crown Court, following a four-week trial, as well as possessing an offensive weapon, violent disorder and involvement in stabbing a second male, police confirmed.
Moments after the bloody attack on October 27 last year a second 17-year-old boy was stabbed as the streets, shops and takeaways erupted into violence.
