Customs officers assigned to an airport in Puerto Rico seized 28 kilos of cocaine inside two cardboard boxes that were disguises as roses.

The drugs arrived on a plane from Colombia on July 5, concealed inside 26 separately wrapped plastic bags that were covered with stems of red roses.

US - Customs - Border - Protection - Statement

According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection statement, a K9 alerted the agents to a pallet of boxes manifested as 'flowers.'

The drug bust came during routine inspection of inbound cargo at Rafael Hernandez International Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Cocaine - Pounds - Street - Value

The cocaine, 62 pounds in all, holds an estimated street value of $702,500.
