California man, 20, is arrested 'for breaking into neighbors' homes and terrorizing women'

A 20-year-old suspected serial stalker has been arrested in California on a burglary charge over the weekend for allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home and touching a young mother's feet as she slept next to her children.

According to residents in the Patterson suburb of Modesto, that was only the latest in a series of terrifying incidents involving Flavio Alvarez, who is accused of harassing and touching several women in the neighborhood, including an 89-year-old widow, over the past five months.

Another woman has since come forward, saying that Alvarez broke into her home and tried to kiss her against her will five years ago.

The 28-year-old victim from Saturday's home invasion and her mother, Carolyn, told Fox 40 Alvarez has been hounding them since he first moved into the neighborhood back in February.

Since then, Alvarez has been arrested five times for allegedly harassing the 28-year-old woman and her 89-year-old neighbor, both of whom got restraining orders against him.

DailyMail.com is not naming the victims because the women previously stated they were fearful of the suspect.

According to Carolyn's daughter, Alvarez first approached her in February asking if she needed help fixing a broken fence. The woman told him 'no,' but that did not deter Alvarez and he followed her to her house, prompting her to summon police who arrived only after Alvarez had fled, reported The Modesto Bee.

Later that same day, the single mom-of-two returned home from a trip to the store and was unloading groceries when she found Alvarez holding some of her shopping bags. When she asked what he was doing, he replied, 'I'm helping you,' according to her February 22 request for a civil harassment restraining order.
