A Massachusetts teenager convicted of fatally stabbing and then decapitating a high school classmate when he became jealous after seeing him speak to a girl he liked, has been sentenced to life in prison.
A jury convicted Mathew Borges, 18, in May of first-degree murder with premeditation and extreme cruelty and atrocity after in the November 2016 he stabbed 16-year-old Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino 76 times and beheaded him.
Borges - Lawrence - Years - Verdicts - Parole
Borges, of Lawrence, was sentenced to 30 years respectively for the two guilty verdicts and he will be eligible for parole in 30 years under the maximum allowable sentence handed down on Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Helene Kanzajian.
The sentencing came after the victim's mother Katiuska Paulino delivered a heart-wrenching impact statement in Salem Superior Court in front of her son's killer.

Paulino wore a black shirt with his image on the front for the sentencing appearance. The victim's family had done the same during the 10-day trial that was followed by two days of deliberation by the jury.
In video footage from CBS Boston she said her son as 'sincere, loving, responsible' and 'charismatic'. She said Borges deserves to be 'incarcerated for the rest of his life' so he can 'never kill again'.
