Armed robber posing as Offerup seller shot by off-duty Florida cops trying to buy jet skis from him

An armed robber posing as a seller on Offerup was shot by off-duty Florida cops who had arranged to buy jet skis from him.

The two Hernando County Sheriff's deputies agreed to meet the seller at a home in Wildwood on Sunday afternoon, and when they arrived they were approached by a man wielding a semi-automatic pistol.

Man - Officers - Uniform - Ground - Gunpoint

The man ordered the officers, who were not in uniform, to get on the ground as he held them at gunpoint.

The cops responded by drawing their own firearms in self defense.

Situation - Seller - Terrance - Jones - Jr

The situation escalated when the supposed seller, later identified as Terrance Jones Jr, opened fire, prompting the deputies to fire back.

Sumter County police responded to the scene and found Jones Jr on the ground with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
