As the US and England prepare for a titanic semi-final clash in the Women’s World Cup on Tuesday night in Lyon, France, old rivalries are being ignited online with a war of memes billing the showdown as the ‘Second Revolutionary War’.

The United States reigned triumphant over France on Friday in an emotional and hard-fought slender 2-1 win, in which Rapinoe bagged both goals to edge USWNT another step closer to consecutive World Cup glory.

But Jen Ellis’ squad will face their toughest feat yet, when they do battle against England’s young and hungry Lionesses, who are ranked at No.3 in the world – just two spots behind the US in first.
