Authorities in Georgia searching for the mother of a newborn baby found alive in a plastic bag in the woods earlier this month have released body camera video showing the moments rescued the wailing infant who still had her umbelical chord attached.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that a caller reported hearing a baby crying in the woods Thursday at about 10.08pm on June 6.

When deputies arrived at Daves Creek Road in Cumming, Georgia, they found the baby who had been left alone in a wooded area.
Body camera video that was uploaded on Tuesday onto the sheriffs office's Facebook page begins with the resident who had summoned the deputies crouching next to the newborn.

The man explains that his children had alerted him to what sounded like the cries of a baby, but he initially thought it was an animal making noises.
A deputy then reaches for the light-brown plastic shopping bag containing the baby and rips it open, exposing the infant inside.
