TV Choice Awards 2019: Line Of Duty and Game Of Thrones battle Killing Eve and Bodyguard

The shortlist for the 2019 TV Choice Awards has been unveiled, and it's a case of old vs new in the battle for the best television of the year.

Line Of Duty - which returned this spring for its compelling fifth season - looks to be a force to be reckoned with, with the BBC drama storming the votes.

Show - Best - Drama - Series - Vicky

While the show is up for Best Drama Series, Vicky McClure also gets the nod for Best Actress, while Martin Compston squares up to his onscreen boss Adrian Dunbar in the Best Actor category.

The show will battle against other seasoned series, such as fellow BBC production Poldark, which has three nominations, and the final season of HBO's Game Of Thrones.

New - Drama - Trophy - ITV - Bay

The Best New Drama trophy sees ITV's The Bay face Netflix’s Sex Education, BBC's Bodyguard and BBC America's Killing Eve.

This year’s first-time nominees include Most Haunted and Derry Girls, despite not being brand new shows.
