Orlando bans plastics at parks, venues starting Oct. 1

Orlando will become the first city in Florida to ban the use of plastic bags, straws and cups at its public parks and venues.

Officials agreed to the policy on Monday in a quest to become of the America's most eco-friendly cities.

Ban - Effect - October

The ban will go into effect on October 1.

Polystyrene cups and Styrofoam ice chests will also be prohibited from being distributed in public places.

Venues - Amway - Center - Camping - World

Venues including the Amway Center and Camping World Stadium will now move to supply their food and beverages in more environmentally-minded packaging.

Orlando is reportedly the first place in Florida to outlaw plastic bags, polystyrene and straws all at the same time.
