Game of Thrones fans have known for quite some time that there were at least three moments from the post-book seasons that came straight from the mind of George R.R. Martin, including one from the series finale.
The show's co-creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff revealed in 2016 that once the source material from Martin's books ran out, the author gave them a rough road map of the major events ahead in his final two installments, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. That entailed what they called "three holy sh-- moments," two of which were later revealed to be the grisly burning death of Shireen Baratheon and the gutting origin story of Hodor.

Until now, fans couldn't be quite sure what the third moment might be — although surely everyone had their suspicions — but thanks to actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright, we finally know what event from the finale fans can almost definitely expect to read about if and when those books ever hit shelves.
