EE will launch the UK's first 5G network THIS MONTH

The first UK 5G mobile network will launch at the end of this month, as EE announces it will go live on May 30.

It will first come to six of the nation's largest cities before reaching the rest of the UK throughout the rest of the year.

Rivals - Vodafone - Race - Top - Britain

This puts them ahead of rivals Vodafone in the race to the top of Britain's 5G mountain who previously announced they were launching their own network on July 3.

5G offers customers extremely fast internet connections and promises a wealth of opportunities for customers and businesses alike.

Telecoms - Giant - Operator - UK - Network

The BT-owned telecoms giant said it will be the first operator in the UK to launch the new, high-speed mobile network.

Residents of London, Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester will be the first to have access to 5G on EE.

Users - Device - Use - Releases

Users will need to have a 5G-enabled device to make use of it, with only the latest releases compatible.

EE said it planned to reach 1,500 sites by the end of 2019. EE also announced its new 5G mobile plans would be available to pre-order from Wednesday, ahead of the launch next week.

EE - Boss - Marc - Allera - Roll-out

EE boss Marc Allera said the roll-out would help 'keep the UK at the forefront of digital technology'.

Vodafone has also been investing heavily in 5G and announced earlier this month its plan to launch in July.

Vodafone - Network - Consumers - Business - Customers

Vodafone will switch on its 5G network for both consumers and business customers in seven cities across the UK on 3 July 2019.

It is also offering 5G roaming in Germany, Italy and Spain over the summer.

Vodafone - Date - EE - Month

Vodafone may have been the first to announce an official date, but EE has undercut this by more than a month.

It will launch initially in seven cities, compared to EE's six, with just London, Cardiff and Manchester...
