An Oklahoma mother has been given three life sentences after she admitted to stabbing her 11-year-old daughter nearly 70 times and setting their home on fire because she believed the child was the 'devil' and wanted to harm her.
A Tulsa County Judge handed the sentence Thursday to 40-year-old Taheerah Ahmad, who pleaded guilty last month to two counts of child neglect and one count each of first-degree arson and assault and battery.

Her daughter survived the savage May 2018 attack and authorities say she has recovered from her injuries.
Ahmad was arrested after authorities in Tulsa said she attacked her eldest daughter with three different weapons, and bound and gagged her two younger daughters, aged seven and nine at the time, who escaped and were found unharmed.
