The Dance Moms star, 52, revealed to People that battling the disease on her own made her feel as though it 'didn't really matter' if she survived the illness.
Abby said being a single woman with no siblings or surviving parents made her battle particularly lonesome.
'That's why, for me, if I died, it didn't really matter. There were people who care about me, but there wasn't anybody dependent upon me,' she explained.
Compared to what ended up being a long and taxing road to recovery, Abby said dying seemed like the 'easy way out' of the situation.
