Helicopter goes down in New York's Hudson River after missing landing pad

A helicopter fell short of a landing pad in Manhattan and was submerged in the Hudson River on Wednesday afternoon, FDNY officials say.

The pilot, who was the only person on board the chopper, climbed out of the water soon after the crash.

The aircraft equipped with flotation devices was pulled from the river soon after.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near 12th Avenue and West 34th Street by land and by water to help recover the helicopter.

Injuries - Landing

No injuries were reported in the failed landing.
