Two gunmen opened fire at diners at a restaurant in the Mexican resort town of Playa del Carmen on Monday night, killing one person and injuring 11 others.
The Attorney General's office in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo said the horrifying attack at the Cerveceria Chapultepec was directly connected to a criminal organization that was seeking a 'piso' fee, which in English means extortion payments, from a business owner.

A cellphone video showed the carnage left by the unknown gunmen, who reportedly got off their motorcycles and unleashed a hail of bullets at 9.45pm local time at the eatery in the Caribbean coastal town.
