June Jones is headed to the XFL to take over the team located in Houston as the head coach.

Jones, who previously was the head coach of SMU and Hawaii, left the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL to join Vince McMahon’s new league, according to a Houston Chronicle report published Monday.

Move - Jones - Johnny - Manziel - Coach

The move is extremely notable because Jones was Johnny Manziel’s coach in the CFL for a brief time, and it’s widely believed the Texas A&M Heisman winner will become the face of the XFL when it returns in 2020.

The XFL has made some outstanding coaching hires so far. They shook the football world by hiring Bob Stoops, they’ve already added Marc Trestman and now June Jones is in the mix.
