The Lion King remake will tell the story 'in a different way' to 1994 animated classic

It's the latest remake of a Disney classic from the iconic animation studio.

And director Jon Favreau has promised fans that the film will not be shot-for-shot the same as the 1994 original, as they intend to approach the story 'in a different way'.

USA - Today - Friday - Iron - Man

Speaking to USA Today on Friday, the Iron Man director said: 'The original holds up incredibly well, so the challenge here was to tell a story in a different way but still deliver on people's expectations while surprising them somehow.'

While Favreau attested that there will be some differences in the live-action remake, the haunting new trailer for the film proved to be quite similar to the Disney classic.

Action - Cartoon - Lion - Simba - Father

Both the live action and cartoon follows young lion Simba, who is set to follow in his father Mufasa's footsteps and become the King of the Pride Lands.
