A girl who was left in a coma with a brain bleed after a horror racetrack accident broke her eye sockets, cheekbones and nose, has made a miraculous recovery.

Two-year-old Lara Whitaker was standing on the sidelines at the Redcliffe Paceway, north of Brisbane, last month when she was hit by a metal boom gate.

Lara's eye sockets, cheekbones and nose were broken and she was left in a coma with a brain bleed for one week at Queensland Children's Hospital.

She spent two weeks in intensive care, unable to move or talk.
