Sorry Classic ‘Child’s Play’ Fans, The New Remake Will Feature Mark Hamill As The Voice Of Chucky

Horror reboots and remakes are a sore subject for many genre fans. When classic horror films like “Halloween,” “Friday the 13th,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street” all got the reboot/remake treatment, old-school fans cried foul. Alas, now with Blumhouse doing it right with “Halloween,” there is a new acceptance by many that perhaps there is a chance that a reboot can work. But in the case of “Child’s Play,” it would appear that not many original fans are pleased with all the changes being made. And they’re damn sure not going to be happy with the new voice of the slasher icon Chucky.

Courtesy of the actor himself, on Twitter, Mark Hamill has revealed that he will be the voice of the killer doll that stalks folks in the upcoming reboot of “Child’s Play.” While we still don’t really know what the doll will look like and what his voice will actually sound like, Hamill is known to be one of the better voice actors working today. And of course, many will recognize him as that guy Luke Skywalker in those outer space laser-sword movies.
