Apple announced back in the summer of 2017 that it's spending a whopping $1 billion on original programming. Today Apple announced this original programming would be available on it's new streaming service, Apple TV Plus. The service will be available this fall, available in over 100 countries.

Apple rounded up a number of big names like JJ Abrams, Steven Spielberg and Damian Chazelle to talk more about the importance of story telling for the service.

March - Services - Event - Series - Glimpse

At the March 25 services event, these were the series we either got a glimpse of, heard from the creators about. When or if release dates for these are announced soon, we will update this piece to reflect that. For now, these are the series we would expect to launch either with or near the fall 2019 TV Plus launch.

Friday Night Lights' Kerry Ehrin will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer for a series about morning show anchors starring Reese Witherspoon Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell. Apple won a bidding war for the show, which will get two 10-episode seasons. Carell will be making his return to television as the male lead and morning show anchor, Mitch Kessler, it was announced at the Appel event. Carell is well known for his role as Michael Scott on The Office and his Oscar-nominated performance in Foxcatcher.
