The mother of James Foley, the journalist murdered by ISIS, has said that American Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh should not be released from prison.
'I don't think he should be released if he is going to continue to sow hate and terrorism around the world,' Diane Foley said in an interview with on Fox & Friends First on Thursday morning.
Lindh - Afghanistan - Months - September - Terror
The 38-year-old Lindh, who was captured in Afghanistan two months after the September 11 terror attacks, is due to be released from federal prison in May after serving 17 years of a 20 year sentence.
He was known as 'Detainee 001' in the war on terror, and according to reports he has refused to renounce violent Islamic extremism while behind bars.
Lindh - Jihad - Extremist - Texts - Bars
Lindh 'continued to advocate for global jihad and to write and translate violent extremist texts' behind bars as of May 2016, according to a National Counterterrorism Center document reported by Foreign Policy.
Lindh has acquired Irish citizenship and is expected to move to Ireland upon his release from FCI Terre Haute in Indiana.

Diane Foley went on to say that anyone accused of 'incredible human rights crimes' should be 'put away for the rest of their lives' if found guilty.
In 2014, her son James Foley was murdered by ISIS at age 40, two years after he was abducted in Syria.
