The wives of Windsor opted for two very different looks when they joined the royal family for a Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey today.

The Duchess of Cambridge plumped for an old favourite, recycling a vibrant red Catherine Walker number she first wore in 2014.

Kate - Heads - Button - Coat - New

Kate, 37, turned heads in the knee-length button down coat, which she wore in New Zealand five years ago, and her classic go-to suede heels.

Fresh from a busy morning at Canada House, her sister-in-law performed a quick outfit change, swapping a green Erdem coat for a chain print Victoria Beckham dress.

Meghan - £1 - Cream - Midi - Custom

Meghan's £1,191 cream midi is a custom made take on the label's forthcoming AW19 collection, altered to accommodate her growing baby bump.

The sleeveless style had a fitted waistline that flares into a midi-length hem and appeared to have been taken up at the neckline for modesty.

Duchess - Sussex - Floaty - Cream - Dress

The Duchess of Sussex, also 37, teamed her floaty cream dress with a matching coat and statement hat, adding green satin pumps and a matching clutch.

For her first engagement of the day, Meghan, who is eight months pregnant, chose a coat and matching dress by Canadian designer Erdem, teamed with £485 Aquazzura pumps, as she arrived at Trafalgar Square with Prince Harry.

Bottle - Wool - Number - Montreal-born - Designer
