Richard E. Grant has warmed the hearts of fans once again, as he took to Twitter to eagerly tweet his invite to the Academy Awards.

The 63-year-old - who is nominated for the first time following his performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me? - posted a snap of his invitation for the grand ceremony, where he will compete for the Best Supporting Prize.

What followed was a slew of responses from fans rushing to wish Richard luck on the big night, as he prepared to journey to Los Angeles for the star-studded ceremony.

Alongside the snap of his grand invite, Richard wrote: 'Just opened this Once In My Lifetime envelope from @TheAcademy.'

He then quoted a line from the iconic 1960 track Goodness Gracious Me by Peter Sellers and Sophie Loren, adding: 'Making my heart go Boom Boody-Boom, Boody-Boom.'
