Saturday Night Live has once again gotten under the president's skin.
This week, the show's cold open featured the return of — who else!? — Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump as he made his national emergency declaration in the Rose Garden before taking off for his Florida golf resort. After touting the results of his physical examination and his upcoming second summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un, whom Baldwin's Trump described as "a very cool and misunderstood guy," NotTrump got down to the business of implementing his executive authority.

"I'm gonna cut to the chase, folks. We need wall. OK? There are a tremendous amount of drugs flowing into this country, from the southern border, or the brown line, as many people have asked me not to call it," he said in the sketch. "That's why we need wall. Because wall works. Wall makes safe."
Upon fielding some questions from reporters, Baldwin's Trump added, "You all see why I have to fake this national emergency, right? I have to because I want to." After summoning up some statistics on the fly about the consequences of "chain migration," he finished with, "In conclusion, this is a total emergency, a five-alarm blaze, which means I gotta go to Mar-a-Lago so I can play some golf."
