Elderly brothers froze to death when their truck broke down half a mile from their home

Two elderly brothers from Kentucky apparently froze to death after their vehicle broke down half a mile from their home over the weekend.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that the bodies of 72-year-old Obie Fugate and 67-year-old Roy Fugate were found Saturday by a family member outside their home.

The relative had arrived at the siblings' home in the 4900 block of Garrison Creek Road in Petersburg to bring them firewood.

The Fugates' disabled truck was found stuck in the mud and blocking a long gravel driveway more than a half-mile from the home at 11.30am, reported WLWT.

The body of Obie Fugate was discovered a third of a mile from his home.

His younger brother was found deceased on his front porch.
